Fin & Feathers Happy Hour. Downtown

Fin & Feathers came west from Atlanta, where the Black-owned Southern seafood group started stacking up locations in 2019. The Vegas restaurant sits on Casino Center Boulevard at the Arts District end of downtown, and it keeps hours most kitchens here will not: open until midnight most nights, 2am on Friday and Saturday, with brunch service starting at 10am on weekends. The menu reads Gulf Coast by way of Georgia, with catfish, wings, seafood and grits, and a hibachi list, plus a cocktail program that normally charges fifteen to seventeen dollars a drink.

That last number is why the happy hour matters. From noon to 8pm on weekdays, everything on the dedicated menu drops to five dollars. On the food side that means catfish nuggets with seasoned fries, two chicken tenders, winglets tossed in mild, hot, BBQ, or lemon pepper, a chicken Caesar wrap, or two tacos on corn tortillas with a house peach and pineapple salsa, one dollar more to add a protein. The five dollar drink list covers margaritas built on tequila blanco with fresh lime and agave, rum punch, whiskey sours, Long Islands, CK Mondavi wines by the glass, and even a pour of Courvoisier. Saturday the window shrinks to 5 to 8pm, Sunday it goes 6pm to close, and weekend specials are dine-in only.

Two things worth knowing before you go. Reservations are text only at (702) 546-6394, and the menu notes a 20 percent gratuity added to every order. Come on a weekday if you want the full eight-hour stretch.
