Atomic Golf Happy Hour. The Strip

The Strat's tower looms directly over Atomic Golf, a driving range entertainment complex at 1850 South Main where the hitting bays face an open outfield strung with targets. Each bay works like a private booth: lounge seating, screens for scoring games, and servers running food and drinks so nobody has to put down a club. The crowd skews groups, bachelor parties, coworkers killing an afternoon, plus locals who treat the place as a bar that happens to have golf. You do not need to be any good. Most of the room is not.

The weekday happy hour here is a package deal rather than a discount menu. For $49 a person you get a reserved bay for two hours with unlimited golf, unlimited food off the happy hour menu, and unlimited draft and canned beer, wine, and cocktails. Sessions start between noon and 4 pm, house rules apply (one drink and one entree per person at a time, and party platters are excluded), and you can add a third hour for $25 a head. Friday and Saturday nights bring the reverse version, 9 pm to midnight at $59.

A few things make the math work better. Nevada residents get 25 percent off the standard two-hour golf package with one local ID per group, and kids 12 and under play and eat free with a paying adult. Book a bay online before you go; walk-ins are welcome, but bays fill once the after-work crowd shows up, and your two-hour clock starts when the reservation does.
