The Crack Shack started in San Diego's Little Italy as a chef-driven fried chicken concept, and the Las Vegas location is its only outpost beyond the Southern California cluster of shops in Encinitas, Costa Mesa, and Pacific Beach. The kitchen's calling card is Jidori chicken, a free-range California bird, fried bone-in or stacked into sandwiches like the Philly Melty. Mini biscuits, coleslaw, and loaded fries handle the supporting work, and a full bar pours cocktails alongside the draft list. The happy hour window is Monday through Thursday from 2 to 5pm, covering what the restaurant calls drafts, sips, and bites. One catch worth knowing: Friday is not included, which surprises people who assume every weekday counts. The shack also skips publishing exact happy hour prices online, so plan on a discount rather than a specific number until the menu lands in front of you.

It suits anyone who wants real food on the Strip without a resort-restaurant bill. The base menu already sits at the cheap end for this stretch of the Boulevard, the patio is a legitimately good people-watching perch, and T-Mobile Arena is a short walk away, so the room fills with jerseys before Golden Knights games and concerts. A 2pm start also makes it a smart late-lunch move when the buffet lines elsewhere look grim.
